MOTORCYCLE TOURING
You are in control of every aspect of your machine. A bump in the road that would go unnoticed in a car, must be negotiated and counteracted through your control of the bike. A car, having four wheels, will not tip over without its driver. A bike requires a rider to function, and as a result, the rider becomes a part of the machine. You are affected by every force that acts upon the machine as a whole. A simple ass-scratch involves intensive preplanning and strategic maneuvering. As part of the machine, your attention must not only be to the mechanical aspects of the bike, but to the terrain, weather, and hazards around you. When you arrive at your goal, you have a feeling of total accomplishment, because you have truly worked to get there. You have seen and felt your environment and have negotiated the world around you to arrive safely. Although this sounds stressful, it is second nature to you as a rider. You have accomplished all this, and still had to time to dream, enjoy, and learn from your ride. This is touring. This section of our site is still under development. Please check back.
