Welcome to MotoTour – A site dedicated to the art of motorcycle touring for both street and dual sport riders. It is our intent to have this site serve as an informational resource for all levels and abilities of motorcycle touring riders. Similarly, we hope that the stories and descriptions in our tour gallery help spark your imagination for your own adventures.
Thank you for visiting MotoTour. We hope you enjoy your stay.
Recent additions to our site include the following:
- NEW – the story of an epic battle between my BMW R1150GS and deer. Check it out in the Tour Gallery to see who won.
- COMING SOON – The 2010 Arctic Circle Tour was a sucess (well kind of… we didn’t make Prudhoe Bay due to mud). We hopw to have a trip log, pictures, and a movie available soon!
- Although still a work-in-progress, the 2007 MotoTour USA Four Corners Tour log book has been published in a new format with cool maps and big pictures. The rest of the log book will be completed in this format. YES… WE ARE STILL WORKING ON THIS!!!
|Death Valley, California Coast, & Yosemite
As the snow started to fall in Utah (literally) we headed out for one last tour of the season. Covering over 1,900 miles in just over three days, we passed through Las Vegas, Death Valley, Big Sur, Yosemite, Mono Lake, and many other really cool places. The video shown at left is a short three and a half minute clip of Highway 1 along the California Coast between Morro Bay and Monterey. If you have never ridden this road, it is a must if you are in the area. We’ll have this tour posted soon in our tour gallery, so please check back.
|Extraterrestrial Hwy & Lunar Crater Tour
The 2008 summer riding season has been rather bleak, with very few updates to MotoTour’s site. We are still working on getting the entire 2007 USA Four Corners Tour published, so please bear with us. In the meantime, we plan to add a small tour description covering Nevada Highway 375 (aka the Extraterrestrial Highway) and Lunar Crater National Natural Monument.
